The American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) Trust is seeking a StudentServicesRepresentative to join our team headquartered in Schaumburg, IL, a northwest suburb of Chicago. The AVMA Trust provides professional liability insurance, life and disability coverage, financial services, as well as other important benefits to the 93,000+ members of the AVMA. Structured to work for its members, AVMA acts as a collective voice for its membership and for the veterinary profession. AVMA’s mission is to lead the profession by advocating for our members and advancing the science and practice of veterinary medicine to improve animal and human health.
Partnering with veterinary schools to provide education and services to veterinary students about the importance of membership and engagement with AVMA, and the AVMA Trust, the Student Services Representative is responsible for overseeing, planning and administering educational and support programs to veterinary students to promote the benefits of the AVMA Trust. They will interact with students and early career veterinarians on a regular basis as well as facilitate industry/convention seminars presenting AVMA Trust coverages to prospective AVMA members. Responsibilities include cultivating relationships with both administrative staff and students to help them better understand the products and services offered through the AVMA Trust, including but not limited, to insurance and financial services for veterinarians. Approximately 40% travel, the position may work remotely.

To be successful in this role, you must be highly collaborative and passionate about the Trust’s mission and the veterinary profession. Additional qualifications include:
BA/BS degree with 3 to 5 years of related business experience; insurance experience is a plus; DVM/VMD or CVT designation also a plus
Knowledge/experience with the veterinary profession highly desirable
Excellent verbal and written communications skills
Must have strong computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) including social media
Must have experience presenting in front of large groups
Must be a self-starter able to work with minimum supervision
Strong time management and analytical skills
Telecommuting is allowed.
