The Central Oklahoma Humane Society is searching for three full time staff veterinarians. We are experiencing rapid program growth! Two positions will be primarily responsible for the care and treatment of all OK Humane Adoption, Relocation, and Neonate program animals to include maintenance of preventative health programs, infectious disease and medical protocol. The third position will focus on high quality, high volume spay/neuter surgeries performed at our OK Humane Spay + Neuter Clinic.
The internal veterinary hospital is located in Oklahoma City and is staffed with a clinic manager, registered vet techs, clinic office assistant, and kennel staff. These staff veterinarians oversee the medical care of all patients in the Adoption, Relocation, and Neonate programs.
OK Humane Spay + Neuter Clinic operates a high-quality, high-volume Humane Alliance model clinic. The staff veterinarian will perform 35-40 spay/neuter surgeries daily. Veterinarians are responsible for performing physical exams to determine surgical candidacy and oversees pre- and post-operative care for all patients. Patients include public-owned animals, free-roaming cats, and animals belonging to rescue and shelter groups.
The positions are salaried with PTO, paid holidays, and other benefits. Dues, licensing, CE, and liability insurance fees paid by the company. Staff vets are included in an after-hours emergency phone rotation but typically no overnight, weekend or emergency shifts. USDA accreditation for writing health certificates is required.
