Pima Animal Care Center is Southern Arizona’s largest pet-adoption agency and the only shelter in our community that never turns away a pet in need. Last fiscal year, we took in more than 20,000 pets, and we reached a record-high save rate of 91 percent. Two years ago, we were chosen by Best Friends Animal Society and PetSmart Charities to have a three-year-long Trap-Neuter Return Program for comm...unity/feral cats. As part of the Pima County Health Department, we also manage an enforcement team and licensing division. Our $22M bond-funded new shelter and clinic is currently under construction with completion dates rolling 1-2 years from now. Tucson is located in the heart of the stunning Sonoran desert. Our community boasts a large university -- the University of Arizona -- and residents enjoy a revitalized downtown area brimming with restaurants, shops and brew pubs. Tucson is a culturally diverse but very affordable community with lots of history and natural beauty that's accessible by hiking, biking and climbing routes.
