The Texas A&M Veterinary Medical Diagnostic Laboratory (TVMDL) is a member of the Texas A&M University System and is composed of four laboratory locations throughout Texas.
TVMDL, one of the nation’s busiest veterinary diagnostic labs, seeks an experienced professional to serve as Section Head of Pathology for the agency’s full service laboratory at Amarillo.
The incumbent will provide leadership and direction for the servicesoffered in the pathology sections. In addition to management duties, the incumbent will perform the routine functions of an anatomic pathologist including performing necropsies and histopathological examinations, recording & reporting results, and communicating with clients. This includes serving as case coordinator for complex, multiple sample submissions by compiling/correlating pathology and all ancillary test findings, suggesting alternative testing as needed, and communicating those conclusions and diagnosis to the client.
TVMDL professionals have opportunities to participate in scientific and professional meetings, develop and improve diagnostic assays and interact with colleagues at the state, national and international levels to advance veterinary medicine.

The successful candidate will have a DVM or equivalent degree from an AVMA accredited institution and MS (in the field of veterinary pathology) or successful completion of a residency in veterinary anatomic pathology and ACVP certification.
