Job Overview: The Medical Director provides clinical leadership and ensures overall quality of medical care delivery including primary care, diagnostic, surgical and therapeutic oversight in accordance with state board regulations and Practice protocols. In collaboration with Pathway Vet Alliance management and Practice Manager, the Medical Director provides all aspects of medical supervision for clinical care & services, quality assurance, professional development, peer review, continuing medical education, medical training/orientation activities, clinician performance reviews and other medically related issues at the assigned site(s).
Purpose of position: The Medical Director should take charge of collaborating with management to establish medical policy ensuring uniform standards of patient care. The Medical Director also serves as medical adviser to all departments. As a member of the senior management team, MD participates in the development of strategic plans, Pathway Planning, Medical Directors meetings, provides input into key programmatic decisions, resource consumption/utilization, service delivery and personnel related matters. The MD serves as primary liaison to the community and to other clinicians within the Pathway Vet Alliance network. The MD will also regularly provide comprehensive clinical services to established and new clients and their pets.
