Colorado Veterinary Specialty Group is a 24 hour emergency and specialty practice. We are currently searching for a Certified Veterinary Practice Manager to help us oversee our growing referral base, caseload and staff. The Practice Manager will work closely with the practice owners to provide a variety of advisory, supervisory, evaluative, administrative and technical functions.
Responsibilities and Duties
Designs and implements practice operating procedures
Works with the practice owners to develop business strategies and client services
Liaises with general practitioners, technicians, customer service representatives and other practice employees to ensure they have the necessary support
Oversees daily practice operations, including appointment scheduling, billing procedures, debt collections, cleaning, and occupational health and safety
Recruits new referring veterinarians
Interacts with clients and gains customer feedback about the practice
Addresses client complaints in a compassionate and timely fashion
Manages the production of patient brochures, newsletters, and other correspondence
Monitors practice's progress in meeting industry targets
Recruitment, training and retention of practice employees
Monitors hours/time cards of employees and preparation of payroll data for processing
Monitors employee benefits
Works with technician supervisors to develop optimal schedules for employees
Conducts performance evaluations for customer service representatives, technical staff and other practice employees
Coordinate advertisement materials and CE functions offered to referring veterinarians and technicians
The successful Practice Manager applicant will display strong organizational, team building, decision making and problem solving skills. They should be able to multi-task and work with personnel of a variety of ages, experiences and attitudes. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are also essential. They should be both detail and customer service oriented and be a team player as well as possess the ability to work independently as needed. Good computer skills and knowledge of practice management software is important.
Previous experience as a Practice Manager is preferred but someone with CVPM certification without prior experience will be considered. Persons with previous veterinary technical experience are encouraged to apply.
